History & Evolution
The idea of a women’s “Tour de France” dates back to 1955. After several formats (1984-1989) the race vanished, then re-emerged in 2022 thanks to ASO and Zwift: Annemiek van Vleuten (2022), Demi Vollering (2023) and Kasia Niewiadoma (2024) opened a prestigious roll of honour. In 2025 the race expands from 8 to 9 days and returns to the Alps for a second straight year.
